I am MADLY IN LOVE with this product. It is the best self tanner I have found at any price! No kidding. Here is why...
1. Amazing natural color
2. Absolutely no smell!! (This is a first for me. Everything else I have tried goes bad on my skin.)
3. No streaking. As will all self tanners, I am careful to blend around knees & elbows.
4. Fast subtle color that is easy to build on.
5. Color lasts! People don't know why, but say I look rested & happy with this color.
6. Cheap! A little goes a long way.
7. Good for everything from face, around eyes, to legs. I use it on my face over my daily moisturizer & still get color.
8. Has SPF!
9. Nice light moisurizer.
10. Don't let the "Instant bronzer" feature scare you. It is SO subtle that it simply helps avoid streaks when blending.
I will be crushed if this is ever discontinued. I have used self tanners since the beginning of time. As a strawberry blonde, tanning is not an intelligent option. TRY IT! It's so cheap that you have very little to lose....

(More customer reviews)I used this tanning lotion for the first time today, I was almost instantly darker. I have used tingle tanning lotions before from swedish beauty and millineum tans and loved them both, however I was surprised for such a cheap price that this tingle lotion was just as good if not better, you instantly get that tingle feeling! NOT FOR BEGINNERS, if you don't have some type of base tan you will burn. Loved it other than the smell(which is why I rated it at a 4), but its the same as all other tingle lotions. I would recommend buying, I'd rate it higher than other lotions that are much more expensive.

California Tan Beach Bum Rum Step 2 Bronzer Review

(More customer reviews)I used to indoor tan in 2003-2004 and I ONLY used California Tan Beach Bum Rum Step 2. Now, come 2009, I chose to join a tanning salon again. I was aghast to find out no salon carried this product. I called 10 tanning salons in my area to find this product, and none carried this product. One tanning salon told me they didn't carry it because it was on older product circa 2004-ish. Anyhow, I come to Amazon and here it is! Now, to the review..
I am very pale. I chose to start with Beach Bum Rum Step 2 vs. Step 1. I've never tried Step 1. Good decision starting with Step 2! This lotion does not turn me orange, it turned me a beautiful light brown color, and I'm getting darker brown each time I go to the salon and use this! The smell is heavenly, coconut-y and fruity. I think the price of this product is such a great value. The tanning salon was selling other products that cost up to $80. Nuh-uh, no way. I will stick with this lotion that is under $25 and turns my pale, almost translucent, white skin a beautiful tan/brown color. I did burn the first few times I went, given my pale skin, and I have never peeled from the burn. I attribute the no-peeling from the burn to the grape seed extract in this product. Any product I've ever used for my skin that has grape seed extract has always kept my skin soft. If you're looking for a GREAT indoor tanning lotion for a great price, this is it! The bronzers are great, the smell is yummy, it spreads nicely over skin, the color it's turning my pale skin is lovely, and you can't beat the price! One last thing I will say that's not a huge deal to me is this. I have noticed it can leave light stains near the underwire of my bra, but it washes out when I do laundry. It also can stain my fingernails, but also not a biggie to me. When I take a shower (which you should wait at least 2 hours to do after tanning) my fingernails no longer have the stain on them. Don't let this detour you! Buy Beach Bum Rum Step 2!!

(More customer reviews)I use selftan all the time and this time I was attracted by the wand. It`s really useful, I can finally apply selftan to my back without help or doing gymnastics. Here`s what I like:
- the wand is awesome and easy to use,
- the spray is great; very light and clear,
- tan came out even and really natural (for more dramatic results I can reapply the next day), last long and fades gradually,
- the fragrance is not overpowering, although next day in the morning I recognized this specific selftan smell (not strong, it`s shower time anyway).
One can last about 4 full body applications.
When I compare the whole experience to mystic tan SheerTan wins-it doesn`t smell, leaves clothes clean, not expensive, I don`t have to drive to tan salon.
For airplane travelling, when I take carry on only I love Tan Towel Toweletts, another winner! For beautiful glow and instant results I love Lancome self bronzer Medium Colour Oil-Free Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion for Face (all Lancomes selftan products are great). For one application dark color, no strikes and smooth skin I adore L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gel Medium-Deep. Those my top products after few years of trying and searching.
Overall I like SheerTan a lot, but I`m gonna also use other products, depends what results I need, how much time I have etc.

(More customer reviews)I decided to give this brand a try because SPF 4 is becoming more difficult to find. I usually use Hawaiian Tropic as that is in every store but not spf 4. PJ has a vanilla scent which is different from the usual coconut/tropical scent. PJ also is a little thinner in consistency compared to HT Dark Tanning Lotion SPF 4 - 4 oz,(Hawaiian Tropic). After using HT for a week, and then using PJ for a few days, I noticed that my skin was more dried out the next day with the PJ. I did notice that I got redder using the HT but not with the PJ. I think it may be that the PJ is more waterproof and uses a different type of active ingredient, Octinoxate (6% Sunscreen) and HT uses Octocrylene (1%), Oxybenzone (.5%). I may try to mix them and see but the only thing i didn't like is my skin being more dry, other than that I like this sunscreen.
