(More customer reviews)Plumeria, related to the Oleander, is one of my weaknesses, my Achilles nose as you might call it and I can never resist anything in that scent. I am a total girl when it comes to lotions and potions, I can burn candles all day long and run a chemical lab thinking up products and flavors. That said I had to get this Plumeria scented lotion, especially since it's a lotion made in Hawaii with aloe vera, glycerin and coconut oil. Hawaiian Lei's are made with this flower and it is said that all the islands are filled with the scent. It looks to me like the perfect place to call heaven!
I found the lotion to be light yet mighty, it sank in and left my skin nice and moist but the flavor was a bit more natural than I was used to. This Plumeria was not heady and intoxicating, but soft and more natural, less purple and more faint. I wish now that I tired the Coconut Mango scent since this one wasn't strong enough for me. A lovely product but for those who are used to the usual rich Plumeria (also called Frangipani) scent of flowers of paradise this one might be a disappointment. I loved the lotion but wished the fragrance was more of what I was used to and expected. Island Soap Company has been one of my favorite brands and I adored shower gels and lotions from them so I will always continue to support them and check out the new scents and flavors they offer.
On an end note, Plumeria is heady and intense like Musk, they both have that something, it reminds me of foods that contain nutmeg, it doesn't taste or smell like Plumeria but it has that something that turns heads and some noses. In different parts of the world different names are used for this flower, its Champa in India, Kalachuchi in the Philippines, Kembang Kamboja in Indonesia, Dead man's fingers in Australia but it all comes down to one thing; delicious.
