I love good body creams and lotions, after a nice bath or shower they seal tiny water droplets on top of the skin, keeping it hydrated and silky. Roger & Gallet has been one of my favorite soap companies for the past ten years but this was my first time using their lotions and shower creams. This lotion however small (it lasted me about a week and a half, using twice daily and quite liberally) it made a big impact on the look and feel of my epidermis, not to mention how luscious it smelled!
The texture was more of a cross between nice creamy body milk and an emollient lotion, sinking into the skin wonderfully and leaving a cocoon effect, I felt wrapped in softness and comfort. The skin is left feeling strong, smooth, and bathed in a heavenly aura. I had no use for perfume the day I wore it and not because it was so strong, but because it was so beautiful and it floated up gently towards my nose, instead of chocking me with the scent. My skin was very soft and comfortable all day long, even my legs stayed hydrated, the one body part that creams seem to work least well on.
The scent of the vanilla sap itself is very unusual. Instead of the buttery sugary sweet vanilla I expected I found the scent to be woody, milky and sophisticated. It smelled like a hot flat desert stone with vanilla pods laying on it, exuding the fragrance from the warmth of the Earth and the sun.
I will definitely repurchase this because I became quite hooked on it, the price is not the best but sometimes a little splurge is all it takes to get me out of the bed in the morning. I also recommend the matching shower cream, for a truly delightful duet.
