I bought this bar because I wanted an easy, organic way to wash my hair plus I heard that coconut oil is good for the scalp. Also the 5 star review helped. When the package came, it came in a huge box that I only recognized it because it had the company's name on it. The package had about a pound of stuffing/cushioning and it's a bar of soap 3inches long by 1inch wide! Seems picky but I'm buying the product for it's ecofriendly attributes and it's shipping seems to have negated that by its wasteful packaging and what ever increase in fuel usage if they had just shipped it in a bubble package or an envelope.
The product itself was horrendous. I take pride in my long hair and moisturize it and take gentle care of it - within one use the bar complete stripped my hair of moisture. I knew something was wrong when I rinsed the product off my hair, my hair stuck to itself, got knotted easily and seemed brittle while still in the shower. So I tried to condition my hair to help - didn't help. I had a hard time combing my hair after the shower and my hair seemed ridiculously brittle even after a full deep conditioning. When my hair dried, it lost its luster (usually associated with properly moisturized hair). And to top off this bad experience my fiance said the shampoo made my hair smell like a mushroom.
I don't know about you, but I don't like smelling of mushrooms. It has seriously taken weeks of conditioning to get my hair back to normal, seems extreme but this bar really did damage to my hair. I had to throw away the bar after two uses.
