Yeah I said it, why did pantene have to come out with a moisturizer fo our hair that actually has good oils in it (coconut, jojoba). It does not leave your hair greasy at all!! I can run my fingers through my hair and not have enough grease on it to fry an egg.....take note makers of black hair products, we like quality too. Thank you pantene cause your finally getting it right for us cause your regular line wasnt doing much for me personally. Anywany after deep conditioning with silicon mix and applying lacio lacio leave in this was stuff was the icing on the cake that is my hair :}

Mizani Butter Rich Deep Nourishing Hairdress 8oz Review

Mizani Butter Rich Deep Nourishing Hairdress 8oz

I was first introduced to Mizani products by my mother (and her stylist recommend the line to her), and the Mizani Butter Rich Deep Nourishing Hairdress became one of her staples. Before I purchased it for myself, my mom let me use some of hers to see how it liked it. Obviously, I liked it enough to buy; however, it has been a little tricky perfecting how I use it. It has a great smell and has done a good job at keeping my hair (especially my ends!) moisturized, but using too much of it can result in a heavy, weighed-down look. Unlike my mom, who has coarse hair, mine in more fine, and I wanted to keep my hair healthy and moisturized, but not at the expense of sacrificing the style or feel of my hair. I just had to use trial and error to figure out how much and how often I needed to apply the Butter Rich to my hair. On the label, it says to use the product "sparingly" which is exactly how it should be used; a little of this stuff can go a long way! And that should be good news considering the Mizani product line is on the expensive side. I would recommend this to a friend, but just warn her that too much of the product can result in stiff-looking hair.

Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya Conditioner Review

Nubian Heritage Coconut and Papaya Conditioner
Average Reviews:

This is hands-down the BEST and most affordable conditioner I've ever used- the only other comparison is Fredrick Fekkai's Shea Butter Conditioner but this one is definitely cheaper. The problem (for me at least) is finding this in stores because I bought my first bottle at an African-
American festival where Nation of Islam vendors were selling Nubian Heritage products. It looked interesting to me since I prefer natural products on my very dry scalp and coarse relaxed hair (think: thick individual strands, type 4b), and it was the best 10 bucks I've ever spent on a hair product. A little goes a long way too since it is thick. It's intensive so you can use it as a deep conditioner by leaving it on for maybe 10 minutes to an hour- depending on your method. Personally, since I need to extend the use of the product and due to its thickness, I may mix it with olive, coconut, and/or jojoba oil or just put it on my scalp and ends while I use those oils in a hot oil treatment. Either way, it's a GREAT investment and I wish I could find it in stores... oh well, guess I'll have to give in and order it.

100% Organic West African Shea Butter 16 oz Review

100% Organic West African Shea Butter 16 oz

(More customer reviews)
I have been using Shea Butter for several years now and works wonders on my dry aging skin. Over the years I have found that whipping it makes it creamy and easier to use than in its natural form right out of the container. When you get your butter, empty the contents of the plastic container into your stand mixer (use paddle attachment) and mix at low speed at first to keep it from flying everywhere. Then increase the speed a little at the time. The butter will gradually heat up from the agitation and will become smooth. At this point you may add a couple of drops of essential oils to make it smell good or you can add a little jojoba oil which will double your moisturizing power. Please note that if you choose to heat Shea butter, do it gradually and at very low heat (I use a double broiler when I need to heat it) because it has a very low heat tolerance, if overheated you will end up with a gritty consistency that is not correctable. Note: if you do not have a stand mixer, you can use a hand mixer, but it takes a while to get it soft and creamy, so consider having a buddy to do relays on holding the hand mixer. Enjoy - hope this tip helps.
