(More customer reviews)I'm a caregiver, and the frequent hand washing along with alcohol-based sanitizers made my skin rough and painfully cracked, sometimes until bleeding. But this cream when applied after each washing helped make my hands soft again.
Pros of the L'Occitane cream:
1. Moisturizes super effectively.
2. Absorbs well without lots of greasiness.
3. Fragrance is pleasant and not too strong.
Cons:
1. Price.
2. Lack of UV protection.
The only other hand cream that worked about as well for me was Ahava (also very expensive).
I've also tried Neutrogena Norwegian formula, Vaseline Intensive Care, Jergens, Curel, Lubriderm, Eucerin, Aveeno and other common brands.
If you can't get the L'Occitane, then the closest inexpensive alternatives I have found so far include:
Eucerin Calming Cream, which is very rich and non-greasy (it comes fragrance free and is in a nice, large tube), and
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula, which feels a bit greasier but is available in fragrance free version, or
Norwegian Formula FAST ABSORBING Hand Cream.
Another alternative is to get some pure shea butter or Aquaphor, smooth a bit on the spots that need special treatment (especially around the nails to prevent hangnails or on cracked knuckles) and then follow up with your current favorite moisturizer.

This one however, doesn't make your hair bone straight so still leaves enough body to move love it....the deep conditioner when used with heat is great as well. the fact that you use neutralizing conditioner and not shampoo was different but worked well. Use only as directed. Wear rubber gloves throughout treatment. 1. Do not shampoo or wet hair prior to treatment. Use a timer from start of application. Typical time requirements for Normal hair is 12-16 minutes. Resistant hair 18-20 minutes. 2. Apply relaxer to new growth area(s) in small sections. 3. I was very disappointed that it didn't do anything that it promised to do, but it smelled yummy so I still used it. It stripped my hair badly every time I used it, and totally dried out my scalp. I ended up having to alternate between using this one and another shampoo. I will say that the Shea Butter conditioner is fabulous, but this shampoo is not worth it.

(More customer reviews)I really love these liquid body washes. The plastic bottle doesn't leave a soapy mess in the tub or around the sink like bar soaps, and no germs left behind either. We used to have several bars of soap in the tub. Everyone liked to have their own soap and each had a different benefit. "Suave -Cocoa and Shea Butter Wash" is perfect for the whole family. It does it all. It's gentle, has a fresh clean scent(I can still smell it on my arm long after use), leaves you with a clean and refreshed feeling. I would also recommend it highly to anyone with very dry or rough skin. It luxuriant in texture and moisturizes nicely as you wash. I even found it to be quite soothing after a day in the sun.
You don't need to use alot either, so it lasts quite a while. A little dab on a washcloth, bath sponge,your hand or pouf works into a good lather that will not only leave you clean but is nice to shave with as well. It rinses off easily as well.
Suave as always, has come up with a product that is just as good(and maybe even better) than the more expensive names.Use it after a hard day's work or to begin one.
All ingredients are listed in the buying info, so you can see if there is anything your skin might be sensitive to.
This six pack is a great deal, go for it!

It defines my natural 4a, coffee-stirrer sized curls, moisturizes, and stays for the whole day. It was recommended by the ladies at the forum in Naturallycurly.com. I used it with Fantasia IC gel and Long aid curl activator. Next day, all I do is reapply a little bit, and spray my homemade (jojoba oil, glycerin, and water) mixture all over my hair with a spray bottle.
Just make sure your hair likes Shea Butter, because for some people it doesn't work.

(More customer reviews)This is hands-down the BEST and most affordable conditioner I've ever used- the only other comparison is Fredrick Fekkai's Shea Butter Conditioner but this one is definitely cheaper. The problem (for me at least) is finding this in stores because I bought my first bottle at an African-
American festival where Nation of Islam vendors were selling Nubian Heritage products. It looked interesting to me since I prefer natural products on my very dry scalp and coarse relaxed hair (think: thick individual strands, type 4b), and it was the best 10 bucks I've ever spent on a hair product. A little goes a long way too since it is thick. It's intensive so you can use it as a deep conditioner by leaving it on for maybe 10 minutes to an hour- depending on your method. Personally, since I need to extend the use of the product and due to its thickness, I may mix it with olive, coconut, and/or jojoba oil or just put it on my scalp and ends while I use those oils in a hot oil treatment. Either way, it's a GREAT investment and I wish I could find it in stores... oh well, guess I'll have to give in and order it.

100% Organic West African Shea Butter 16 oz Review

(More customer reviews)I have been using Shea Butter for several years now and works wonders on my dry aging skin. Over the years I have found that whipping it makes it creamy and easier to use than in its natural form right out of the container. When you get your butter, empty the contents of the plastic container into your stand mixer (use paddle attachment) and mix at low speed at first to keep it from flying everywhere. Then increase the speed a little at the time. The butter will gradually heat up from the agitation and will become smooth. At this point you may add a couple of drops of essential oils to make it smell good or you can add a little jojoba oil which will double your moisturizing power. Please note that if you choose to heat Shea butter, do it gradually and at very low heat (I use a double broiler when I need to heat it) because it has a very low heat tolerance, if overheated you will end up with a gritty consistency that is not correctable. Note: if you do not have a stand mixer, you can use a hand mixer, but it takes a while to get it soft and creamy, so consider having a buddy to do relays on holding the hand mixer. Enjoy - hope this tip helps.

(More customer reviews)This product is an unexpected keeper. I was looking for Kinky Kurly's Knot Today at the store, and found this product instead. It's a small bottle, and when you spray it on -- it's like a light oil (with silk proteins and shea butter mixed inside). And it smells sooooo good -- almost like a citrus candy. And the best thing was the product's scent didn't cause me to have a headache or an allergic reaction by day's end. (This is rare, since I'm highly allergic to scents/smells).
I used the spray on my first day twist out, and it gave it a slight shine. But, it's more helpful with cutting down the frizz. Second day twist out -- I didn't retwist it at night, and slept with a satin cap on. By the time I woke up-- the style was gone. I used a little water (for me, it always revives my 4a curlies). I also used a little shea moisture coconut hibiscus hold and shine moisture spray -- this time, curls with no frizz! It was wonderful. Someone even asked if I was using a "curl" definer that day.
Note: I don't think that the shea moisture is a "curl definer" but it does help with frizz, and smells really nice. I will be buying this product again in the future.

(More customer reviews)I sometimes use Shea Moisture's "Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Conditioning Curl and Style Milk" as my morning hair moisturizer. It smells nice -- and everytime I use it, most wonder what kind of perfume I'm wearing.
My all-time favorite hair milk is still Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Ambrosia --- which provides all-day moisture for my hair, and comes in a number of wonderful scents. But let's face it: KBB's too expensive now. KBB's decreased the amount of Hair Ambrosia for their customers, albeit they hide it by putting it in a more sophisticated "branded" bottle, and use 400ml instead of the 6.something oz, you're actually getting. $16, plus shipping for 6 oz does not equal a bargain in my book.
Shea Moisture's product is almost half the price of KBB's Hair Ambrosia ($9.99). If you can buy it in a Target store, you'll save shipping worries. Their product contains top-quality, organic ingredients. It's thicker than KBB"s Ambrosia (because it has organic shea butter, KBB"s contains none). Yes, Shea Moisture doesn't have KBB's variety of scents (like white tea, honey and oatmeal, etc;). But, it still smells great. Also, Shea Moisture's hair milk isn't as moisturizing as KBB's Hair Ambrosia, but I think that's mainly due to the lack of vegetable glycerin. A really dedicated natural diva could buy glycerin, and still come out ahead (price wise) when buying Shea Moisture compared to KBB's Ambrosia.
A little goes a long way with Shea Moisture too. With such a quality product at a reasonable price, AND I'm getting more for my money -- it's hard (for me) to justify buying KBB's Hair Ambrosia anymore... I've only given it four stars, however, because it's not as moisturizing (for me anyway) compared to KBB's.

(More customer reviews)I have natural locks and used this product to twist and hold my locks. Let me just say, it works amazingly! My hair feels soft and moisturized and when it dried, the locks were held in this amazingly soft, coiled pattern. Really brilliant stuff and i seriously cannot recommend it enough. It is quite light and smooth, and a little goes a long way. It can be used to style or to moisturize. It has quite a strong coconut, tropical smell-which I love, but may be too much for those who are sensitive. I should say that it is quite a natural smell though and it is not overkill or annoying. My hair smells and feels great. I would recommend this without a doubt to all those who have natural hairstyles coils, twists, spirals, locks, afros.
An added bonus for me is that all of the ingredients are organic and it does not have unnatural sulfates, parabens, etc that some are allergic too. It contains, pure, raw shea butter-100% organic. I hope you enjoy this product as much as I have ;)

I was looking for a soap made only with natural ingredients, so the name of the soap is somewhat misleading. It is made "with" natural herbs, but this only means the natural herbs are added to the main ingredients rather than only containing natural herbs. If you are looking for a natural soap that is good for sensitive skin, Pre De Provence Milk Soap is not recommended.

The fragrance is a cross between coffee with sweetened condensed milk and cocoa butter. However, this moisturizer does come off somewhat on clothing and sheets, because it's so thick.
