(More customer reviews)I've been on a gluten-free diet for 2 years, and one of the things I miss most is being able to visit a bakery and pick out sweets once in a while. Chocolate dipped macaroons are my favorite cookie, and I was delighted that a friend thought to send me these from Chatilas. They were perfect macaroons, slightly moist on the inside, crispy on the outside, with a lovely dark chocolate coating. I couldn't ask for more, except to have more! They're wonderful. Another thing I like is that they're made with Splenda, rather than NutraSweet. These cookies would be safe for a gluten intolerant person with diabetes, but they're delicious for anyone who appreciates a perfect macaroon.

(More customer reviews)This cake mix can easily result in a deliciously moist or unappetizingly bone dry cake depending on the oil used. I used 1/2 cup of Canola oil in my first attempt to make this cake and it yielded a bone dry cake with an unappetizing flavor that seemed substandard even for a gluten and dairy free cake. In my second attempt to make this cake I used 1/4 cup of Olive oil and 1/4 cup of Coconut oil and it yielded a moist cake with the most delicious flavor and mouth feel! It was even indistinguishable from normal chocolate cake! After refrigeration, the moist cake became dry, likely because of the coconut oil that hardens in cooler temperatures, but quickly reverted back to its deliciously moist self when warmed.
I would happily cook with this cake mix again and serve it to my non-allergen-challenged friends and family!

I can not take another RISK and order another batch. I've eaten MANISCHWITZ macaroons in the past and they have always been of EXCELLENT QUALITY. What happened? Most of the protein bars I've tried that have a high protein count also have a high calorie count AND often taste like cardboard. The Simply Bar Lemon Coconut has 17 grams of protein with only 140 calories. It is light, chewy and tasty. I have the protein bar with a piece of fruit in the morning for a breakfast under 300 calories. Also a good choice for those on a gluten-free diet. The price is a little high, but I haven't been able to find the bars any cheaper anywhere else. I also tried the Simply peanut butter chocolate bars, but they were not as good as the lemon bars.

This should have been stated with the nutrition facts on the box. The canister type container of Jennie's Brand macaroons is wonderful!
This BIG box contained 10 quarter-sized cookies, too. I wouldn't have really wanted more after it's effect on my system, but for the price.....

Prior to ordering from amazon, I went to several gourment markets in my neighborhood that said they carry the product, but actually they do not. I resolved to my last option- online order. and guess what? all 6 boxes of cookies arrived in the condition that I've feared/expected- expiring in 1.5 month from the date of arrival.

Anyway, my mother bought these for the children for a snack and I will tell you everyone in my family who has tasted these finds them absolutely addictive. My husband and my brother-in-law now both have to have a can of these every week. They won't even share with my sister and I so we, of course have to buy our own can. lol. Our children can't get enough of them. Seriously the best cookie ever. None of us even liked macaroons before Jennies. Buy them, try them and love them, just know there isn't a patch to get help when you become addicted, but there may be enough of us to start a meeting or two. lol.
