I found the product at several places on the island and the tropical fragrance inticed me to purchase a jar. I used it every day after being out in the sun, sand and saltwater and it was a great moisturizer.
I brought two jars back to the states, but it eventually ran out. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon.com! If you want to remember the islands, or just give yourself a "mini-vacation" try the Island Song line.

The lotion is creamy, thick and moisturizing. I have sensitive skin and this doesn't break me out. My complexion is clear and fresh since using this product. I also use their Black Soap Face Wash and Lotion when I get break outs during my cycle and it is works great as well.

It defines my natural 4a, coffee-stirrer sized curls, moisturizes, and stays for the whole day. It was recommended by the ladies at the forum in Naturallycurly.com. I used it with Fantasia IC gel and Long aid curl activator. Next day, all I do is reapply a little bit, and spray my homemade (jojoba oil, glycerin, and water) mixture all over my hair with a spray bottle.
Just make sure your hair likes Shea Butter, because for some people it doesn't work.

(More customer reviews)This product is an unexpected keeper. I was looking for Kinky Kurly's Knot Today at the store, and found this product instead. It's a small bottle, and when you spray it on -- it's like a light oil (with silk proteins and shea butter mixed inside). And it smells sooooo good -- almost like a citrus candy. And the best thing was the product's scent didn't cause me to have a headache or an allergic reaction by day's end. (This is rare, since I'm highly allergic to scents/smells).
I used the spray on my first day twist out, and it gave it a slight shine. But, it's more helpful with cutting down the frizz. Second day twist out -- I didn't retwist it at night, and slept with a satin cap on. By the time I woke up-- the style was gone. I used a little water (for me, it always revives my 4a curlies). I also used a little shea moisture coconut hibiscus hold and shine moisture spray -- this time, curls with no frizz! It was wonderful. Someone even asked if I was using a "curl" definer that day.
Note: I don't think that the shea moisture is a "curl definer" but it does help with frizz, and smells really nice. I will be buying this product again in the future.

(More customer reviews)I sometimes use Shea Moisture's "Organic Coconut and Hibiscus Conditioning Curl and Style Milk" as my morning hair moisturizer. It smells nice -- and everytime I use it, most wonder what kind of perfume I'm wearing.
My all-time favorite hair milk is still Karen's Body Beautiful Hair Ambrosia --- which provides all-day moisture for my hair, and comes in a number of wonderful scents. But let's face it: KBB's too expensive now. KBB's decreased the amount of Hair Ambrosia for their customers, albeit they hide it by putting it in a more sophisticated "branded" bottle, and use 400ml instead of the 6.something oz, you're actually getting. $16, plus shipping for 6 oz does not equal a bargain in my book.
Shea Moisture's product is almost half the price of KBB's Hair Ambrosia ($9.99). If you can buy it in a Target store, you'll save shipping worries. Their product contains top-quality, organic ingredients. It's thicker than KBB"s Ambrosia (because it has organic shea butter, KBB"s contains none). Yes, Shea Moisture doesn't have KBB's variety of scents (like white tea, honey and oatmeal, etc;). But, it still smells great. Also, Shea Moisture's hair milk isn't as moisturizing as KBB's Hair Ambrosia, but I think that's mainly due to the lack of vegetable glycerin. A really dedicated natural diva could buy glycerin, and still come out ahead (price wise) when buying Shea Moisture compared to KBB's Ambrosia.
A little goes a long way with Shea Moisture too. With such a quality product at a reasonable price, AND I'm getting more for my money -- it's hard (for me) to justify buying KBB's Hair Ambrosia anymore... I've only given it four stars, however, because it's not as moisturizing (for me anyway) compared to KBB's.

(More customer reviews)I have natural locks and used this product to twist and hold my locks. Let me just say, it works amazingly! My hair feels soft and moisturized and when it dried, the locks were held in this amazingly soft, coiled pattern. Really brilliant stuff and i seriously cannot recommend it enough. It is quite light and smooth, and a little goes a long way. It can be used to style or to moisturize. It has quite a strong coconut, tropical smell-which I love, but may be too much for those who are sensitive. I should say that it is quite a natural smell though and it is not overkill or annoying. My hair smells and feels great. I would recommend this without a doubt to all those who have natural hairstyles coils, twists, spirals, locks, afros.
An added bonus for me is that all of the ingredients are organic and it does not have unnatural sulfates, parabens, etc that some are allergic too. It contains, pure, raw shea butter-100% organic. I hope you enjoy this product as much as I have ;)

(More customer reviews)I've been using this coconut ghee for several months now and I LOVE IT! It's great for cooking, providing a rich flavor for pancakes, eggs, shrimp, meat, and rice, among other things. The coconut oil part is not refined, though, so it cannot be used for very high heat cooking. And the coconut oil, since it is not refined, does impart a slight coconut taste, so that needs to be kept in mind when cooking with it. Of course, the ghee also provides a richness of its own, but it is only 25% of this oil, so the butter flavor is very subtle.
Coconut ghee is also great for hair and skin care. I've used it as a moisturizer after showering, and my skin drinks it up.
I read somewhere once that you shouldn't use anything on your skin that you wouldn't eat (since your skin can absorb a great deal of what comes in contact with it). With that in mind, I took some coconut ghee to my massage therapist and she was impressed with how great it worked as a massage oil. It is now the only massage oil my husband and I have her use for our massages. I like knowing that the substance that is being rubbed deep into my skin is nourishing (whether consumed internally or externally!), instead of being some concoction of chemical oils.

(More customer reviews)I've done a lot of research and I've tried a lot of products. This is it. I have a friend that owns a movie theater and he told me this is what is used. There are slight variations in theaters across the nation but this is the product used. He said they do not use real butter because it melts down the popcorn when it is hot. Real butter also tastes funny, yes, it's true. He said the theater tried it for a month and customers would come back complaining that the butter tasted funny and get a refund. The topping is the way to go.
Trade secret number #2: Flavorcol. You won't get that salty seasoned flavor from this topping alone. Nor from a combination of this topping and salt. Flavorcol is a salt seasoning that is put in the mix while popping. Get it use it.
Oh yeah, there's a 3rd secret too: Use red coconut oil. It's similar to what McDonald's uses. Pay attention to how similar the smell of the nuggets frying and popcorn is. That smell in the movie theater is actually the coconut oil frying.
Never said it was healthy.

Savoy Coconut Cream Review

(More customer reviews)This coconut cream is a brand we buy locally. It is a brand we very much prefer, as we find it to be very good. It contains 70% coconut milk versus the usual 55% most of the other brands contain (and many brands do not even list this fact), so you are getting more coconut flavor in each can. The one big thing we DO NOT like is that it contains preservatives. This brand does not seem to be available without it; we checked their website. So, even though we like it, we are trying other brands without preservatives. This contains coconut milk--70%, water and potassium metabisulphite (E224). As yet, we have not been able to find another brand of coconut cream similar to this. We DO like that there are clear, easy to decipher, production and expiration dates on each can. Many brands do not do this. Hope this info is helpful!
