Yes, it did cause my scalp to itch when I first started using it, but I kept using it since the website said to keep using it to improve scalp health. After a few weeks, the itching stopped, my natural 4b hair (which always feels dry and "crunchie") is incredibly moisturized, and last but not least, I kid you not, my hair grew almost an inch in less than a month of use!!! Nevertheless, due to the hype, I decided to purchase this product (and two others) and this one worked the least. In fact, this one does not work at all on my dry, coarse, kinky curls. After using the Whipped Cream (which I keep trying in hopes that it works), my hair remains without moisture and crunchy. Other products can do better but then again...it's important to note that these products that target "kinky and/or curly hair" work differently for everyone...just as other commercial products do.

I washed my hair and applied this product and sat under my hooded dryer for 30 minutes. When I rinsed it out of my hair, my hair felt like silk. After blowdrying and flatironing my hair feels so soft. So this will now be one of my staple products. Now on the other hand, my best friend used this product and says it left her hair feeling very thick and coated. Her hair is already thick so that's the last thing she needs. Me on the other hand, I have thin hair, and strive for thickness. So obviously it works for some and not for others. But as long as they make it I'm going to continue to use it.

I started using JBCO to seal my ends after twisting. I also apply the oil to my scalp and massage it at night, and add about 1-2 tsp. to my deep conditioner. I've also noticed some hair growth since Ive been doing my scalp massages with JBCO more regularity. And that's all I can really say. It may be more pricey than regular castor oil so that's why I give it 4stars, but as far as its perfomence I think it is the business!!! for anyone who has Natural hair.

It defines my natural 4a, coffee-stirrer sized curls, moisturizes, and stays for the whole day. It was recommended by the ladies at the forum in Naturallycurly.com. I used it with Fantasia IC gel and Long aid curl activator. Next day, all I do is reapply a little bit, and spray my homemade (jojoba oil, glycerin, and water) mixture all over my hair with a spray bottle.
Just make sure your hair likes Shea Butter, because for some people it doesn't work.

(More customer reviews)This is hands-down the BEST and most affordable conditioner I've ever used- the only other comparison is Fredrick Fekkai's Shea Butter Conditioner but this one is definitely cheaper. The problem (for me at least) is finding this in stores because I bought my first bottle at an African-
American festival where Nation of Islam vendors were selling Nubian Heritage products. It looked interesting to me since I prefer natural products on my very dry scalp and coarse relaxed hair (think: thick individual strands, type 4b), and it was the best 10 bucks I've ever spent on a hair product. A little goes a long way too since it is thick. It's intensive so you can use it as a deep conditioner by leaving it on for maybe 10 minutes to an hour- depending on your method. Personally, since I need to extend the use of the product and due to its thickness, I may mix it with olive, coconut, and/or jojoba oil or just put it on my scalp and ends while I use those oils in a hot oil treatment. Either way, it's a GREAT investment and I wish I could find it in stores... oh well, guess I'll have to give in and order it.

Word to the wise: it does contain coconut oil so if your hair is sensitive to protein (which coconut oil is), try not to use this everyday. I typically use it once a week to give my hair some much needed nutrients. I could totally see myself using it as a pre-poo treatment too. The smell is earthy and herbal, but not too strong. Be careful not to use too much as a little goes a long way.

(More customer reviews)I've reviewed Suave Naturals Shampoo, Fresh Mountain Strawberry in the past, and at that time I commented that I didn't particularly like the product as a shampoo. As part of Suave's "new" formulation I found that it ceased to work as effectively as the "old" formula. I also said though that I continued to buy it for my children as it made a wonderful soap for them use. It's a gentle body cleanser with a nice smell and it is far more affordable than the brands I buy for my husband, or even Suave's own liquid soap line. (Which is good because my children still play in the bathtub and waste soap like money's no object. And you see, by buying Suave shampoo I eliminate my need to scold them on a nightly basis.)
In any case, all these points are true for the Pomegranate shampoo. It's gentle, it's cheap, it cleans them. HOWEVER, what isn't true is that it doesn't smell like pomegranates. At least I don't think it does, unless maybe pomegranates smell soapy.
To be honest it's been awhile since I've sniffed a pomegranate, so perhaps I'm wrong. But in any case, this shampoo has a sweet soapy smell, but not a particularly fruity one.
OVERALL a better body soap than shampoo, imo. It's affordable and effective. It just doesn't have a particularly distinctive odor.
